Vintage Amateur Radio Rigs
On this page, I am going to feature some of the vintage rigs that I have used, owned and written about. These are mostly radios manufactured prior to 1970 or so.
Heathkit HW-30 2 Meter Transceiver
The "Benton Harbor Lunchbox" is a 5 watt AM two meter transceiver. It has a super regenerative receiver and cost $44.95 new a kit. The rig used 5 tubes. It has a built in AC Power supply and also works with an external 12 volt supply. This was my first Amateur Radio rig. I still own it!

Hammarlund HQ100AC Receiver
My 1963 original Hammarlund communications receiver. This receiver covers .54 to 30MHz. It features an RF preamplifer, 2 IF stages, a true BFO circuit and a Q multiplier for additional selectivity. This receiver still works great. More photos
