WJ1B Station Equipment
Home Station:
My home station is located in Cheshire, Connecticut, New Haven County, Grid Square FN31nm, IARU Zone 8. CQ Zone 5.
It consists of an Icom 7610 transceiver, an Elecraft KAT500 Automatic Antenna Tuner, and an Elecraft KPA500 Amplifier. I also have a number of QRP rigs including an MFJ Cub and a 40-40.
My portable station consists of Icom 7100 or 7300 transceivers, an LDG Tuner, a Buddipole antenna and both Buddipole and Bioenno batteries with a Powerwerx Battery Box. I use this station mostly for POTA activations. I used HAMRS logging software for POTA.
I use Heil Audio microphones and headsets and a variety of paddles to send CW. My favorites paddle is the Begali Simplex. My paddle page
DXLab Suite is my general logging software. For contest logging, I use N1MM. I upload all of my logs to Logbook of the World and to QRZ.com. For the digital modes, I use Fldigi software for PSK-31, PSK-63, and RTTY and WSJT-X for FT4, FT8, and MSK144. I also use JTAlert with WSJT-X. The software runs on an HP PC with Windows 10 and dual monitors. Dimension 4 software keeps the PC clock calibrated.
